Lamers Soldbuch

 

WW2 German Army Soldbuch set for Josef Lamers.  A Schützen at the time of his being drafted into military service, he was promoted to Gefreiter 1 August 1941, to Obergefreiter 1 February 1943, and to Unteroffizier 1 April 1944.  His Erkennungsmarke was 2 Grenz Infantry Ersatz Batl. 125.

Missing page 11-12, the Soldbuch pages are loose and have a lot of wear.  He was issued a replacement Soldbuch, included, January 1945.


Lamers was born 23 December 1915, Oggersheim.  He was a butcher.  The Soldbuch was started 4 December 1940.

He served with 1 Company Feld Ersatz Batl 132, 9 Company Infantry Regiment 438, Stab Reserve Grenz Batl 438, Stab II Grenadier Regiment 947.


He was single. His mother lived in the Saar.

Jakobs was issued steel helmet, tropical gear at one point, and received a 300gr iron portion.

Three different times in 1942, he was issued French ration cards.


He had a rifle and bayonet.

Sadly, page 11-12 is missing.

He was wounded in January 1942 (Wound Badge awarded).  He was on several hospital trains and was released back to active duty, 10 July 1942.

These pages reflect his pay grade promotions, that correspond to page 1.

Mostly dated 1942, this was pay he received while in various hospitals in Poland; Lublin, Zamosc.  He also received extra front pay.

On 3 June 1942, he was awarded the Silver Wound Badge. From 16 July 10 9 August 1942, he was awarded healing leave.  3 September 1942, he was awarded the Russian Front Medal.


He was granted 5 leaves between December 1942 and December 1943.

A slip is glued onto the awards page to list the award of the Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, 1 February 1942 and the Krimschild, 14 April 1943.
