Luftwaffe Soldbuch for Gefreiter Albert Leinenweber.  Has nice uniform photo with the ink stamps from Flugzeugführerschule 22.  His Soldbuch was started when he was a Flieger and he was promotoed to Gefreiter 1 September 1944.  It also has his POW number, 31G-787838.

Leinenweber was born 15 May 1925, Düdweiler in the Saar. He was a mechanic by trade.

The Soldbuch was started 4 September 1943, Flugplatzkommando B Nidda.

Page 4 shows he served withFlugplatzkommando B Nidda 25 August 1943 to 9 September 1943. He served with 9 Flieger Regiment 22 10 September 1943 to 15 October 1943.  From 16 October 1943 to 1 December 1943 he was with 11 Schütz Regt. z.b.V.  From 1 December to 4 December he was with 11 Schütz Regt.93. 1 December 1943 he was with Flugzeugfuuhrerschule 22 Technische Kompanie. From 29 April 1944 to 14 August, he was with 1 Kompanie Seefahrtschule d. Luftwaffe Lobbe u. Rügen.  15 August 1944, he was with 3 Komp. Seefahrt Schule d. Luftw. Lobbe Rügen.  The final posting was to Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 191.

He had a tropical service physical exam 3 May 1944, and was found fit for tropical duty. At the same time was his Bord exam and he was also found fit.  On 18 February 1944, he was issued glasses.

Nice Luftwaffe Soldbuch for a young man who was obviously taken from the Luftwaffe into the Army in September 1944, since the need wasn’t for gunners-radio operators aboard aircraft and was on the ground fighting on the West Front.
