Luftwaffe Soldbuch for Wilhelm Scholz, who was Stabszahlmeister when the Soldbuch was started.  On 1 May 1944, he was promoted to Stabsintendant (Captain) L. Offizier in TTDJ (?).

Scholz was born 30 October 1906, Berlin. He was a military official.  The Soldbuch was started 20 July 1944, by  Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur A 106-III.

Page 3 confirms his promotion to Captain.

From 8 March to 5 October 1944, he was with Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur Bardufoss (Norway).  On 6 October 1944, he was with Komm. Gen. der Dt, Lw. Norway.

For next of kin, he listed his wife and his parents.  His father was a Polizeiassistant in Berlin.

He was issued a steel helmet and a Pistol 08. The last entry for clothing appears to be September 1945.

Page 18 has a post dated entry of money from 1 June 1935. There is an entry from march 1945 and another after, with the stamp of the Komm.Gen. d. Dt. Lw. in Norway.

Page 19 has been cut from the book, but is still present.  It shows pay grade 9 (Oberleutnant) and pay grade 8 (Captain).  The last entry is 28 October 1949 in Hamburg when he received POW compensation.

Pages 20 and 21 note pay after war’s end during 1945.

He was awarded the War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords, 1 September 1942.

He had 2 leaves to go home to Berlin, one in 1943 and one in 1944.

Both papers are about his release from the British run POW Camp in Norway and obtaining POW compensation money.  Dated 3 November 1949, Hamburg.

Nice Soldbuch for a career administrative officer who served in Norway most of the war and was held as a POW until 1949.
