WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Funker Helmut Kiel, Panzer Grenadier Regiment.  From Kirchhain.

He was called to the military, 5 December 1942, and first served with a Panzerspäh Company.  In April 1943, he had a short visit with his parents, while transported to France. Two months later, he was to Northern Italy.  While at his observation post, he became the victim of a British or American Bomber assault, 24 September 1943.  He was 18. He was buried in Livorno.

Single page double sided card measures about 4 x 2.75 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing him as buried in Costermano, Italy.

In very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Luftwaffe Unteroffizier Hermann Wilhelmus. 

He suffered a flier’s death while performing a military exercise, 23 December 1938.

Back of card has rendering of Jesus. Single page single sided card measures about 2.25 x 4 inches.

WW2 German Death Card Sterbebild German Cross in Gold KG Richard Schneider

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Feldwebel Richard Schneider.  Painter from Waldmuenchen.

He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Iron Cross 1st Class, Infantry Assault Badge, Russian Front Medal, Wound Badge, Romanian Order 2nd Class and German Cross in Gold.  The award of the German Cross was made 2 July 1942, when he was with 11 Company Infantry Regiment 97.

He participated in the campaigns in Poland, France, the Balkans and Russia.  He was killed 22 August 1943, by Dolgenkoja.  He was 29.

The back of the card has an angel with a soldier.  The single page, single sided card measures about 2.75 x 4.25 inches. 

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office stating he was killed in Dolgenkoja and was buried in the tomb of the unknowns in Charkow, Ukraine. 

In very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Oberleutnant and Company Commander Jakob Bermes, Grenadier Regiment.  Kreisoberinspektor in Riegelsberg in civilian,

Was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class, Iron Cross 2nd Class, Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, Russian Front Medal and more.

Killed in the East, 5 October 1943.  He was 30.

Double sided single page card measures about 2.75 x 4 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing him as dieing at the main aid station Minkino and being buried in Gostilowo, Russia.  It also lists his rank as Captain, so he could have received a posthumous promotion.

WW2 German Death Card Sterbebild Oberleutnant Jakob Bemes

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Soldat Heinrich Diensberg, Grenadier Regiment.  Called to military service 29 March 1944.  On 26 June 1944, he was sent to Düna.  On 6 July 1944, he was wounded by enemy shrapnel.  11 July, he was transferred to the reserve hospital in Tilsit, where he died on 14 July.  He was buried with military honors in the forest cemetery at Tilsit, 18 July 1944.  He was 17.

Photo is in Hitler Youth uniform.

Single page double sided card.  Measures about 2.5 x 4 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Grave Office listing him as dieing and being buried in Tilsit, Russia.

In very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Luftwaffe Gefreiter Franz Xaver Niemeier, anti aircraft unit aboard and air-sea rescue boat.

Killed in the enormous struggle in the English Channel, 11 September 1943.  He was 21.

Nice Luftwaffe Flak uniform photo.

Single sided double page card measures about  5.75 x 4.5 inches.  Has Mary and Jesus on the back.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Unteroffizier Josef Grodel, Panzer Commander and radio operator.

Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Tank Assault Badge.

Killed 19 August 1944, in the East.  He was 21.

Great photo wearing black Panzer wrap tunic with the Iron Cross ribbon.

Single page single sided card.  Measures about 2.5 x 4.5 inches.  Back of card has an Iron Cross and prayer for him.
