Wehrpass Hennig

 

Army Wehrpass for Wilhelm Hennig, born 29 August 1894, Wismar.  He was married and a type setter.

The Wehrpass was started in Berlin, 9 October 1940.

He underwent his military induction physical, 22 July 1937, and was classified Landwehr II.  He had a subsequent physical 18 August 1943, and was completely released from service in WW2.

He served in the Infantry in WW1, from 17 December 1914 to 27 October 1916.

Includes the cardboard pouch for his Wehrpass.

His WW1 Militärpass has him as a Musketier, and that he joined the military December 1914.  At the time, he was a book printer.

The majority of service was with Infantry Regiment 163,  between February 1915 and August 1916.


He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, 22 February 1916 and the Military Service Cross 2nd Class, 23 October 1916.



1915-1916 he fought against the French.  he fought along the Aisne, Artois, Giesler Höhe and it was there, 21 February 1916, he took an infantry round to his left shoulder and to the back of his head.





Nice set, mostly for a WW1 combatant who was badly wounded.
