Wehrpass Loew

 

Army Wehrpass set to Johann Loew, born 10 May 1909, Fierlbach.  He was a  single land worker in civilian.

The 2nd style Wehrpass was started 8 February 1938, when he registered for the draft.  The Wehrpass has his death date on the cover and his father

He completed further school and had a class IV driver’s license.


He was drafted for military service,  19 March 1936 and was classified unfit.  He was called again for a medical exam, 29 January 1940, found fit for service and classified Ersatz Reserve 1.

He trained with 1 light Artillery Ersatz Batterie 231, from 27 June to 6 July 1940.


From 27 June 1940 to 10 Janury 1941, he was with  1 light Artillery Ersatz Batterie 231.  From 11 January 1941 to 11 March 1943, he was with Stab Batterie IV Atrillerie Regiment 267.

He trained on a Karabiner 24 and was a horse team driver.

He was promoted to Gefreiter, 1 August 1941, and to Obergefreiter, 1 October 1942, and on 1 March 1943, to Unteroffizier.



He was awarded the Russian Front Medal 15 July 1942.

From 11 January to 4 February 1941, he was with department of Aisne.  From 5 February to 8 April 1941, he was in coastal protection on the Canal Coast and  Dunkirk.  From 9 April to 22 may 1941, the were in Northern France. From 23-24 May 1941, was the march to the east.  25 May to 22 June 1941, they broke through and crossed the Bug.  From 23-28 June, they were fighting in Pripjet east of Brest.  From 29 June to 8 August 1941, they fought by Swiflotsch, Berefina, Dnjepr.  During August 1941, they fought by Gomel and Roslawl.

From 30 August to 1 October 1941, they were in defensive fighting by Jelnja and Smolensk.  It lists that for 4 days in September they were fighting taks at Kostyri.  From 2 October to 13 October 1941, they broke through at Brjansk and were fighting at Wjasma.

From 14 October to 4 December 1941, they broke through the Moscow defensive forces west of Moscow and were engaged by Woronesch.  From 5 December 1941 to 2 January 1942, they were in defensive fighting by Moscow.

Between January and April 1942, they were engaged in defensive fighting, on the Nara, winter fighting between Juchnow and Gshatsk.

From 17 April to 6 May 1942, they were in the “operational area.”  From 7 May to 1 July 1942, they were a part of Heeresgruppe Mitte.

Killed 11 March 1943, by bomb splinters to the buttocks and back.  He was still a member of  Stabs Batterie IV Artillerie Regiment 267, East.
