WW1 German Death Card Sterbebild mortar Givenchy

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Soldat Georg Spitzer, 2 Company 2 Infantry Regiment.   Farmer’s son from Unterseebach.

Killed by a mortar round, 14 November 1915, by Givenchy.  He was 24.

The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus on a battlefield.  The single page, single sided card measures about 2.5 x 4 inches.

Card shows some age.

WW1 German Death Unteroffizier Alois Nock, 8 Company 12 Reserve Infantry Regiment. Economist’s son from Unterframmering.

Was awarded the Iron Cross.

An enemy mine dog brought him into a skirmish at Arras and he suffered such a complicated broken leg on 11 May that he died from the injury 15 May 1915.  He was 28.

Nice NCO uniform photo.

Back of the card has an angel with a soldier.  The double page single sided card measures about 5.5 x 4.5 inches.

Includes Graves Registration Office slip listing him buried in St. Laurent Blangy, France.

Very good condition.

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Infantrymann Georg Schiessl, 6 Company 15 Bavarian Infantry Regiment.  Professional soldier’s son from Stachsried.

Received a difficult wound 30 May 1916, and died in the field hospital.  He was 22.  They were engaged at Verdun at this time.

The back of the card has an angel with a soldier.  The single page, single sided card measures about 2.25 x 4.5 inches.

Includes Graves Registration Office slip listing him as buried in Romagne sous les Cotes, France.

Very good condition.

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Josef Wieser, Austrian Dragoner Regiment 4.  Farmer’s son from Schosleiten.

Killed at Monsee, 20 March 1917.  He was 22.

The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 5.5 x 4.25 inches.

Excellent condition.

Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class.

Killed 3 September 1916, France.  He was 24. IR 8 was engaged at Verdun on this date.

Nice uniform photo with the Iron Cross drawn on.

Back of card has an angel with a soldier. 

Double page single sided card measures about 4.5 x 5.75 inches.

Includes a German Graves Office slip listing him as buried in Azannes II, France.

Very good condition.

German Death Card (Sterbebild) for WW1 Army Generalmajor Hugo Wilhelm Freiherrn von Lederer.

Born in Kronstadt 9 September 1857 and died in Linz am Donau, 6 July 1939.

Real photo glued to card.

The back of the card has Mary and baby Jesus.  The double page, single sided card measures about 6 x 5.5 inches.

Promoted to Generalmajor 1 August 1917 and retired 1 January 1919.

Very good condition.

Killed by an aerial bomb, 8 May 1918, by Douai, France.  He was 21.
