WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Kanonier Johann Wimmer, 7 Batterie 1 Field Artillery Regiment.  Farmer’s son from Voglwohl. 

Killed by being buried in a cave in (trench?) by Reims, 18 July 1918.  He was 19.

Nice full uniform photo. 

The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 5.25 x 4 inches. 

In very good condition.

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Unteroffizier Anton Leonhard, 11 Bavarian Infantry Regiment.

Killed on the battlefield at Bapaume by shrapnel, 26 August 1918.  He was 26.

The back of the card has an angel with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 4.5 x 5.5 inches. 

Card has definitely been carried and has a nip at the top center border and a bend to the left corner.

WW1 Austrian Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Gefreiter Josef Linner, 1 Machine Gun Company 2 Reserve Infantry Regiment.

Was awarded the Military Service Cross 3rd Class.

After 2 years true service, he  received a difficult wound and died in the battle by Arras, 9 April 1917.  He was 26.

Nice photo with pistol holster.

The back of the card has an angel with a soldier.  The double page single sided card measures about 4.5 x 5.5 inches. 

Slight wear to the edges.

WW1 German Death card Sterbebild Sword Spike Helmet

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Kanonier Johann Edtbauer, 21 Field Artillery Regiment. Master blacksmith’s son from Breitaich. 

After 19 months suffering the stresses of war were too much and he died at his artillery firing position, 24 July 1917.  He was 21.

The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 5.25 x 4 inches. 

Includes slip from German Grave Office that he was buried in Sissonne, France.

Very used-worn condition.

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Landwehrmann Xaver Vogl, 11 Company 16 Infantry Regiment.    From Prünst.

Killed in the fighting along the Somme, 17 September 1916.  He was 33.

The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus with a soldier.  The double page single sided card measures about 4 x 5.5 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing him as buried in the cemetery at Proyart, France.

Very good condition.

WW1 German Death Card Sterbebild Fresnoy France 1917

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Soldat Johann Weinzierl, Reserve Infantry Regiment.  Farmer’s son from Loh.

After 9 months service, he was killed during the assault on Fresnoy, France, 8 June 1917.  He was 19.

Nice full uniform photo.  The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 5.25 x 4 inches.  In very good condition.

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Reservist Johann Grandl, 5 Company 15 Infantry Regiment. Farmer's son from Prost.

Killed on the battlefield by Montigny Lothringen, 22 August 1914.  He was 25.

Nice real glued on uniform photo.

Back of card has Jesus on a battlefield.  Single page card measures about 2.5 x 4 inches.

Includes slip from the German Graves Office listing him as being killed by St. Johann von Bassel and buried in Gosselming, France.

Very good condition.

WW1 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Gefreiter Anton Hochholzer, 11 Company 15 Bavarian Infantry Regiment. Professional soldier from Kronleiten.

Awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Bavarian Service Cross with Swords.

Killed during an assault in the West (from a bad wound), 4 April 1918.  He was 28.

Good photo wearing 2 ribbons.

The back of the card has a rendering of Jesus with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 5.5 x 4.5 inches. 

Slightly worn condition.

Killed in an enemy land, 6 March 1916.  He was 30.

The back of the card has a rendering of an angel with a soldier.  The double page, single sided card measures about 5.75 x 4.5 inches. 

Includes a German Graves office slip listing him as buried in Beaucamps Ligny, France.

The 21 RIR was engaged in Flanders - Artois on 6 March 1916

Very good condition.
