37 letters, 24 envelopes. Most are feldpost and some with Luftpost stamps. Most are from Johann Loew to his parents.  They date from 1940 through 1942.  The final letter is informing his parents of his death, 29 March 1943.


41 photos.  Some have writing on the back.  Most are 2.5 x 3.5 inches.  Two are smaller and two are larger.   They show a horse team, artillery pieces, soldiers,  Four show his grave and the cemetery.  His grave has his name on the cross.


Death certificate for Johann Loew lists him as an Unteroffizier.  It lists his place of death as Smolensk, Field Hospital (motorized) 23, on an Eastern Battlefield.


Death Card for Johann Loew lists him as an Obergefreiter and lists that he was awarded the Russian Front Medal.  Lists that he participated in the large campaigns of the East.

He was 33 when he was killed in difficult defensive fighting in the East, 11 March 1943.

Excellent condition.


Includes his German Grave Office slip listing him as dieing at Field Hospital 23 (mor=torized) Smolensk South and being buried in Smolensk Nishnjaja Dubrowinka, Russia.
