WW2 German Death Card Sterbebild Army Unterarzt Dr. Maeusl Latvia 1944

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Unterarzt Dr. Josef Maeusl.  Dentist from Munich.

Was awarded the Russian Front Medal and the War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords.

Killed 17 October 1944.  He was 35.  Buried in the cemetery in Talsen, Latvia.

Nice uniform photo wearing the Russian Front Medal ribbon.

Double sided single page card measures about  2.75 x 4.5 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office stating he was killed in Stende and was buried in Talsi, Latvia.

In excellent condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Leutnant Hans Braun, Artillery Regiment.

Killed in the difficult fighting repulsing the enemy in the West, 16 November 1944.  He was just 20.  He was buried in Marienthal.  His brother Paul has been missing in the East since October 1944.

Back of card has Jesus praying.  Single sided single page card measures about  2.25 x 4 inches.

Includes slip from the German Graves Office that lists him as killed in Niederbronn les Bains and buried at Grosstännchen, Alsace (France-Germany).

In excellent condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Medical Obergefreiter Michl Schmid, Medical Company.

Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class.

Killed in fighting repulsing the enemy between Pripjet and Beresina, 3 February 1944.  He was 32.

Nice uniform photo wearing the Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon.

Double sided single page card measures about  2.25 x 4 inches.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Gefreiter Rudolf Lillig, 3 Company Grenz Infantry Regiment 124.

Killed 5 June 1940, in the fighting on the Aisne Oise Kanal by St. Paul, France.  He was 24.

Back of card has Jesus.  Single sided double page card measures about  4.5 x 5.25 inches.

Bundesarchiv lists him as killed by being shot in the head and buried in St. Paul.

Good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Gefreiter Johann Hochholzer, 8 Batterie Gebirgs Artillerie Regiment 79.   He was killed 10 January 1944, the the Bosnian Mountains. He was 21.

Double page single sided card measures about  5.5 x 4.25 inches.

Includes a German Graves Office slip listing as killed in Melina, Bosnia.

Bundesarchiv lists him as being killed by an infantry rund to the back in Melici, Bosnia.

Used condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Lautnant Jakob Vinken.

Went to the military in 1937, and right before he was to be discharged, the war began.  He was twice wounded.  Just like his father who died in WW1 before he was born, he had a daughter born he had not seen. Killed 3 March 1945.

Single sided double page card measures about  5.75 x 4.5 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing he was killed and buried in Küstrin, Poland.

In good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Hauptman Max Jung, 2 Gross Kraftwagen Kol. Betr. St. 445. 

He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Finnish Freedom Medal, War Service Cross with Swords and more awards.

As a 17 year old, he volunteered and served in WW1, 1914, and fought in the West, the East and Finland. In WW2, he survived the fight in the West. He suffered a fractured skull and died in Luftwaffe hospital Carcassonne, France., 7 January 1943.  He was 46.

Double page single sided card measures about  5.5 x 4.25 inches. Back of card has cross.

Good condition.

WW2 German Death Card Sterbebild Paratrooper Fallschirmjaeger 1944 Italy

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Luftwaffe Obergefreiter Alfons Gergen, Machine Gunner in a Fallschirmjaeger Regiment.

Killed by San Casciano south of Florence, 24 July 1944.  He was 20.

Single sided single page card measures about  4.5 x 2.5 inches.

Bundesarchiv lists him as serving with 1 Company Fallschirmjaeger Regt 10.  It lists he was killed by an infantry round to the chest, 6km south of San Casciano, Italy.

Excellent condition.
